The Value of Awareness

How much is it worth to know that there are no emergency vehicles around you?

For Blu Eye users, that peace of mind is priceless.  And it's not just for one drive, but for every drive from now on. A one time investment that makes every journey more aware, more relaxed and safer.

In the UK, the cost of losing awareness, even for a moment, is real:

  • Using a mobile phone whilst driving: £200 fine plus 6 penalty points
  • Speeding violations: from £100 plus 3 penalty points
  • 12 points in 3 years equals mandatory driving ban (often 6 months or longer)
  •  New drivers can lose their licence entirely at just 6 points

Many drivers don't speed intentionally. They simply lose awareness for a moment.

Target Blu Eye doesn't prevent fines. It increases your awareness, helping you stay conscious and alert behind the wheel. Over its lifespan, it can pay for itself many times over.

Ask yourself: How much would you pay to get your licence back if you lost it?

Why drivers choose Blu Eye GO

  • Peace of mind: know what's around you before you see it
  • Stay composed: drive without constant uncertainty
  • Protect your licence: every alert is a reminder to check your surroundings and speed
  • One time investment: built to last years plus, not a subscription
  • Move safely: give emergency vehicles the space they need, sooner
  • Install in minutes: mount, plug in, drive. Swap cars in seconds
  • Trusted pedigree: on the road since 2009 & patented Dutch engineering. View the official patent (NL2006876C2)

How Blu Eye works (in 3 simple steps)

  1. Detect
The system detects the radio signals of nearby emergency vehicles including unmarked police cars, fire engines, and ambulances.  Even if they are not using sirens or flashing lights.

  2. Recognise
Blu Eye GO analyses the strength and pattern of these signals to estimate how close the vehicle is. The display shows you whether they are near or far, so you always know what to expect.

  3. Alert
Clear on-screen and audio warnings give you extra time to react. You stay calm, anticipate traffic earlier, and move aside safely when it matters most.

Simultaneous detection of up to three emergency services

The display of Blu Eye GO shows up to three emergency services at the same time. Useful when you assume that merging ambulance on the highway triggered your alert, but a quick glance at your display reveals there’s another emergency service nearby. Because being warned is being prepared, three times over.

The patented idea:

In 2009, our engineers discovered how to translate ultra-brief periodic signals associated with emergency-service communications into safe, in-car awareness cues without decoding any content. That breakthrough led to Target Blu Eye, protected by Patent NL2006876C2, and refined into today’s Blu Eye GO.

  • Passive operation:  No transmission, no content decodin
  • Privacy-friendly: Does not identify vehicles, drivers or messages
  • Purpose-built awareness first,  technology in service of safety

Who it’s for

  • Frequent motorway drivers & commuters who value calm, early awareness
  • Fleets and shared vehicles where quick, portable installation matters
Legal Position

Target Blu Eye is fully legal in the UK and Europe.

Unlike radar detectors (which are illegal in many regions), our passive technology simply detects the presence of emergency service radio signals, without decoding content, identifying vehicles, or transmitting anything.

It is designed as an awareness tool to help you drive consciously, not as an enforcement avoidance device.

Is Blu Eye a radar detector?

Blu Eye is not a radar detector. A radar detector tries to warn drivers about enforcement equipment, while Blu Eye focuses entirely on driver awareness and safety.

Radar detectors attempt to detect speed-enforcement radar or laser. In the UK this offers limited value, because most enforcement now uses average-speed systems and ANPR, which traditional detectors cannot reliably identify.

Blu Eye works very differently. It passively recognises emergency service TETRA radio activity and provides a simple alert so you can look ahead, prepare and create space for approaching police vehicles (including marked and unmarked units), fire engines and ambulances.

It does not decode messages, jam signals or interact with enforcement equipment in any way, and it is legal to use in Europe.

I wa lucky enough tobe asked to be an ambassador, so I used the unit for the first time Sunday. Brilliant, managed to identify every marked and unmarked car in plenty of time, saved my licence at least twice In the first 100 miles! Awesome

For years I wanted to buy the Target Blu Eye 2, but without owning a sports car I couldn’t justify the cost and hassle of professional installation. When the portable GO version was released with a 30-day money-back guarantee, I had to try it — and I’m so glad I did.

OMG, it’s fantastic. It really works and provides impressively early warnings thanks to its high sensitivity, even using just the standard antenna. I haven’t tried the external antenna yet, but if it improves things further, that’s incredible. The sensitivity can also be adjusted to suit your preference.

Another huge advantage is portability. Moving it between our cars and the hire cars I regularly use is effortless. The automatic windscreen suction mount is brilliant too — unlike traditional suction cups, it sticks perfectly with no worries about it losing grip or falling off.

It’s actually become fun spotting the emergency vehicle before it appears!

One benefit I haven’t seen anyone mention is how valuable it is at night. My partner especially feels reassured knowing a car following her isn’t police-related, particularly after a past experience where someone pretended to be a police officer and tried to force her onto the hard shoulder.

Safe to say, I definitely won’t be returning it!

I received my Target Blu Eye GO on 18th February and, to be completely honest, I had a few teething problems at the start. After installing the external antenna it still wasn’t performing as well as I’d expected, which was a bit frustrating. However, after a bit of trial and error I removed the angled antenna adapter and plugged the aerial directly into the device - problem solved! From that moment on, it’s been absolutely spot on.

What a superb little bit of kit the Target Blu Eye GO is. It’s genuinely eye-opening to realise what’s going on around you that you’d otherwise have no idea about. I had a good run from Croydon up to the Midlands this morning and it didn’t miss a single emergency vehicle. It was picking up their radio signals well before I could see anything in the mirrors or up ahead. Even more impressive, it flagged a couple of unmarked cars that I probably wouldn’t have noticed at all.

It adds a real sense of awareness and reassurance when you’re covering miles. Once you see how early it alerts you, you start to appreciate just how useful it is.

Customer service has been first class as well, genuinely some of the best I’ve experienced. Helpful, friendly advice is literally just a WhatsApp message away, and they clearly know their stuff.

Safe to say, I’m hooked. I honestly don’t know why I hummed and harred about getting one for so long. If you’re on the fence like I was, just go for it, you won’t be disappointed.

This device is absolutely out of this world. It does what it says and I have experienced the full capability of it. I have been able to move clearly out of the way for both ambulances and police patrol vehicles on the motorway and also in the City.

Keep the good work up guys - 10 out 10!!

I’ve had this device just over a week now. And it works as intended. It’s a nice feeling knowing I do not have to worry what’s around me. It works perfect at detecting all types of emergency vehicles, especially unmarked police cars. I’ve got this set up in my centre console using the external antenna. Only issue I found was that the power cable was a bit short and it doesn’t utilise a 90 degree bend type c plug for a cleaner look. Other than that, I am very impressed.

Picks up emergency vehicles and street patrols. Most likely will save me 6 penalty points in the future. Having a habit of touching my phone even if only briefly. I am definately now slowly getting out of that habit due to the Target Blue eye Go. Highly recommended.

I looked at Blue Eye's products when they were first released, and sat on the fence as the old system required bumpers off to route and stealth mount the antenna's, and just didn't have the time.

So when the Go version came through i pulled the trigger and its been a worth while investment and my personal recommendation would be to include the additional antenna for total peace of mind.

I've mounted mine in car, as opposed externally and it performs incredibly well. The unit is slick and a returns very few false positives for total piece of mind.

Can't support these guys and their products enough - it's no brainer if you're on the road a lot here, or in Europe and you enjoy the thrill of the drive!

It feels important for me to share my experience of Target Blu Eye GO and I'll explain why: it's a non-trivial amount of money so it's necessarily a purchase you will consider carefully - you don't know how good it is until you commit and try it but, I do, now I own mine. And let me tell you it's a formidable piece of kit. That's why I want the company to be rewarded for their fantastic efforts and investment.

I don't know how they have done it. Detecting a fairly complicated and specific type of radio data signal, and then ensuring that you only create a warning signal when the transmitter is within a fairly accurate and reliable 700m to 1km (0.5 mile approx) is clever and I can understand why this needed quite a bit of R&D to perfect. My unit sits attached to the front screen of a 2023 '5 series' BMW and works beautifully. It is 'just the right amount' of warning, and just gives you a warm and cosy feeling of knowing stuff others don't.

This is 'next level' high end kit, make no mistake.

Well, the whole process is pretty simple and straightforward meaning it’s accessible to a wider range of users. It only gets better as this changes your rod awareness completely, I can’t drive without it! Customer service is also amazing and I would highly recommend this to all road users, especially those who care about protecting their car and licences!

Ok so put it this way, I was recently on a drive through the Welsh valleys and almost all of the club members got stung from a mobile unit.. some of which are now looking at a straight ban.

With the help of my blue eye I was able to
Move out of the way of fast approaching
Emergency services and avoid any other issues that may of come.

As a dedicated user of the Target Blu Eye 2 (mirror version) since May 2024, I was eager to see if the new Target Blu Eye GO could match the performance of a fixed-installation unit. After putting it to the test, I can confirm it delivers the same life-saving technology in a much more flexible package.

Performance & Portability: The transition to a portable touchscreen interface is seamless. While the standalone unit trades a small amount of detection range for its "Plug & Go" convenience, this is a non-issue in practice. I paired mine with the external antenna accessory, which fits neatly on the windscreen. This simple addition completely restores the range, providing alerts for marked and unmarked emergency vehicles up to 1,000 meters away - exactly like my fixed Blu Eye 2.

Key Highlights:

Intuitive Interface: The touchscreen is highly responsive and the display automatically rotates, allowing for flexible mounting near the dashboard or the rearview mirror.

Smart Features: I particularly appreciate the City Mode, which reduces sensitivity in dense areas to prevent alert fatigue, and the Dark Mode/Dim-on-Red functions that keep the cabin discreet at night.

Reliability: It detects up to three emergency services simultaneously, giving me a clear picture of what’s happening on the Airwave network before I can even see a blue light.

The Verdict I truly feel "naked" driving without this technology now. It doesn't just prevent surprises; it provides the situational awareness and confidence I need for my driving style. Whether you drive a lease car, a classic, or switch between vehicles frequently, the Blu Eye GO is an indispensable safety tool. It is the best investment I’ve made for my peace of mind on the road.
