Why does Blu Eye work in some countries and not others?
Blu Eye operates on TETRA and Airwave, the professional digital radio systems used by emergency services. In the UK, Airwave is the nationwide communication network used by police forces, ambulance services, fire brigades and related organisations.
More than 300,000 emergency workers use TETRA-based networks every day to stay connected with control rooms and with each other. The network consists of radio masts, rooftop antennas and switching stations, ensuring coverage across cities, motorways and rural areas.
Blu Eye detects the presence of this network activity. In countries that use TetraPol instead of TETRA or Airwave, Blu Eye cannot function due to the different underlying technology.
